About these terms

These terms apply to all handyman, assembly, dismantling, interior painting, shed assembly and odd-job work carried out by Hello Handy, part of the Hello Services network, at 46 Harvey House, Green Dragon Lane, Brentford, TW8 0DJ.

Estimates and bookings

Prices shown on our website and in our calculator are estimates based on the information you give us. They are not a fixed quotation. A booking is confirmed only once our team has accepted your requested slot and a handyman has been assigned; you can check that status on your booking page at any time.

Pricing

Our standard rate is £38 per hour with a £75 minimum charge per visit during standard hours, Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm. Work carried out after 6pm Monday to Saturday, and work on Sundays, carries a surcharge of approximately 10% rounded to the nearest £10.

Time is charged from arrival to completion. Materials, parts, fixings, paint, waste removal, parking charges and congestion or low-emission zone charges are not included unless agreed in writing.

Your responsibilities

Please make sure the work area is accessible and reasonably clear, that someone aged 18 or over can give access and approve the work, and that you tell us about hidden pipes, cables, fragile surfaces or building restrictions before we start. Where a landlord, freeholder or building management permission is required, it is your responsibility to obtain it.

What we do not do

We carry out interior painting only, and do not undertake exterior painting. We do not carry out notifiable gas or electrical work, structural alterations, roofing at height, asbestos removal or any work we judge to be unsafe. A handyman may stop work and leave if a site is unsafe.

Changes, cancellations and access

You can change or cancel a booking free of charge up to 24 hours before the agreed arrival window. Cancellations inside 24 hours, or a visit where nobody is available to give access within 30 minutes of arrival, may be charged at the £75 minimum visit charge.

Payment

Payment is due on completion of the visit unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We will tell you the total before you pay, including any surcharge and agreed materials.

Guarantee and liability

Our workmanship is guaranteed: if something we fitted or finished is not right, tell us within 14 days and we will return to put it right at no cost. We are fully insured for accidental damage caused by our work. We are not liable for pre-existing defects, for damage caused by unsuitable walls, fixings or flat-pack parts supplied by others, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
