What we collect

When you request an estimate or contact us we collect your name, phone number, email address, postcode, the details of the job you describe, your preferred date and arrival window. If you speak to us by phone or message we may keep notes of that conversation so the handyman attending knows what to expect.

Our website also records basic technical information such as pages viewed and approximate location, used only to keep the site working and improve it.

Why we use it

We use your information to prepare your estimate, confirm availability, send a handyman to the right address, keep you updated on the status of your job, take payment, and handle any follow-up or guarantee work. We may also use the job description you provide to suggest the most suitable service category.

Legal basis

We process your information to perform the contract you ask us to enter into, to meet our legal obligations (for example accounting and insurance records), and on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and improving a safe, reliable service.

Who we share it with

We share only what is needed with the vetted handyman assigned to your job, and with service providers who host our website and database, send our emails and process payments. We never sell your personal information.

How long we keep it

Estimate requests are kept for up to 24 months so we can handle repeat visits and guarantee claims. Records needed for tax, insurance or legal purposes are kept for up to six years. After that we delete or anonymise them.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or restrict the information we hold about you, object to how we use it, or ask for a copy to be transferred. Email info@hellohandy.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Security

Your information is held in access-controlled systems, and only authorised staff and the handyman assigned to your job can see your details. If you believe your data has been compromised, contact us immediately.
